Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Install components
   • Mark surface area for layout installation, where applicable
   • Apply fitting and levelling practices
   • Select fastenings to suit job requirements
   • Fix components to meet specified job requirements
   • Apply clean work practices for coating and adhesive applications
2. Determine job requirements
   • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
3. Comply with work health and safety (WHS) requirements at all times
4. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with SOPs
5. Identify job requirements from specifications, drawings, fitout plans, job sheets or work instructions
6. Construct fitout components
   • Identify materials for fitout from fitout plans
7. Check take-off quantities and produce cutting list, if required
8. Machine material to suit job scantling sizes, strength and appearance requirements
9. Mark/cut out materials to specification
10. Identify components requiring assembly and determine the sequence of assembly
11. Assemble fitout components
    • Identify method of assembling and fastening components
12. Assemble components to specifications
13. Remove waste materials in accordance with work practices and relevant legislation
14. Sand surface area of assembled components for installation, where applicable
15. Pre-coat component surface for preservation according to standard specifications and procedures, where applicable
    • Mark surface area for layout installation, where applicable
16. Apply fitting and levelling practices
17. Select fastenings to suit job requirements
18. Fix components to meet specified job requirements
19. Apply clean work practices for coating and adhesive applications
